Matthew was pleased to bring Boris Johnson to Edgware to meet local residents and shop owners and show him how money from the Mayor's Outer London Fund has been spent to improve Station Road.
The Outer London Fund is dedicated to strengthening the vibrancy and growth of London’s high streets and town centres. Grants from the Fund are intended to be used to improve the character, quality and economic vitality of a high street or town centre like Edgware.
Matthew said: "I was very happy to lend my support to Edgware's application for funds for tree planting to improve the appearance of Station Road. Edgware as a shopping area undoubtedly looks more attractive and I am very pleased that new businesses are coming to the town. Redevelopment of the Broadwalk Centre will improve the area even further.
"An attaractive and vibrant town centre is the heart of a community. It draws people in, creates new job opportunities and improves the local economy."
